Course Descriptions – Steamboat Springs has four courses for vacationing golfers to choose from. Steamboat Springs Golf Club presents a deceiving course for golfers to navigate. Short, drivable fairways give way to greens surrounded by hazards. The confidence gained from an expertly placed drive will rapidly fade as you fire approach shots over lakes, ponds and deep bunkers. This public course has 9 holes over 6,902 yards with a par of 72 and is located 14 miles from the center of Steamboat Springs. Haymaker Golf Course is more forgiving as it lets golfers choose the level of play from the tee box. Check out this scenic municipal award winning 18 hole course with a length of 7,308 yards located just 4 miles from the center of Steamboat Springs. Only 3 miles from downtown is another nice place to play a round of golf. The Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club is a 72 par public course. It's 18 holes play over 6,902 yards from the longest tees and the course rating is 72 with a slope rating of 138 on Blue grass. This is another wonderful Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Design. 5 miles from the center of Steamboat Springs is the Tom Weiskopf designed private Catamount golf course that opened in 2000. No matter your skill, you are sure to have a great day navigating the picturesque landscape of any course in Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Golf Scene – From championship style courses to 9 hole municipals, golfers on vacation are sure to discover new worlds of fun when swinging in Steamboat. A hot spot in the chilly months, Steamboat is fast becoming a golf destination in its own right. Views of the mountain resort, untouched pine forests and jagged horizon against cloudless skies are awe-inspiring. Even if you have to chase after a sliced drive, you are sure to appreciate your surroundings as you line up your second shot.

Play & Stay in Steamboat – Again, a town used to catering to the whims of vacationers, golfers will want for nothing when lodging in Ski Town USA. The same condos, cabins and B&Bs open their doors to visiting golfers in the spring, summer and falls times of the year. Luxury doesn’t come with the same price tag during golf season as it does in the winter months. Golfers are able to couple discount green fees with inexpensive lodging and get their rounds in at a fraction of what you would pay at other top notch golf destinations. As with other resort towns, book your trip to The “Boat” early and save with deals and avoid holiday rate inflations.

Golf Travel & Transportation – Located on its own in northwestern Colorado, getting to Steamboat can be a little challenging. The nearest major airport is Denver International and from there a long but beautiful drive through the Rocky Mountains awaits via shuttle services or rental car from the airport. Another good option is the small Yampa Valley Airport and Steamboat Springs Airport which are serviced by regional airlines year round. Located off of Hwy 40, Steamboat is a small community of around 9,000 people, so getting around by car, bike or the heal-toe express shouldn’t prove to be terribly challenging.

19th Hole Entertainment – As one would expect, Steamboat Springs is home to several natural hot springs. Old Town Hot Springs is home to several pools and waterslides for your post round enjoyment and Strawberry Park Hot Springs, just outside of town; offers excellent stargazing opportunities after dark were one can relax and soak in the memories of the days’ pars and birdies. . . . Vacationers are warned that at Strawberry Park, when it’s dark, clothing is optional and minors are not permitted.
