Silver Mountain

Silver Mountain is in Kellogg, Idaho, with its mild 70s and 80s in the summertime and its mountain views. Silver Mountain Resort is the home of Kellogg Peak and Warner Peak, and a resort golf course, Galena Ridge, with a grand opening date set in June of 2010. The new course means that Silver Mountain Resort can focus even more on summertime sports and activities and will be offering golfing vacation discounts and well as golf play and stay packages.

Course Descriptions – In addition to the new course going up at Silver Mountain Resort, Kellogg is home to one semi-private course. The Shoshone Golf & Tennis Club offers an 18-hole course with a 3,000 foot elevation and a few prominent water hazards for those who love a challenge. There are also about 5 courses in nearby towns line Pinehurst and Saint Maries which are generally used by local golfers.

The course of note for those on a golf vacation in the Kellogg area is the new Galena Ridge course at Silver Mountain Resort. The course has a variety of elevations with slopes, hills and wooded draws. There's a mountain view as well as a view of the valley. The course is a 9-hole course with a par of 36 and a yardage over 3,600. There are also practice nets in a warm-up area so golfers can be prepared for the challenge of the strategically placed bunkers and sloping greens.

Play & Stay – Golf play and stay packages make Silver Mountain a great golfing destination. Resort rooms aren't necessary as the course is open to the public, so local condominiums, chalets and inns are also lodging choices. For those who want to enjoy more than golf there's hiking, mountain biking, tennis and other summer sports available. Silver Mountain is just an hour from Spokane and Spokane International Airport on I-90 with shuttle services available and a variety of car rentals, taxis and buses, so it's a convenient place for that adventurous golf vacation.

Galena Ridge offers dramatic elevation changes, fairways tucked into quiet, wooded draws and sweeping valley views. Silver Mountain’s brand new course delivers the quintessential mountain golf experience and 9 holes will be ready for play beginning in late June, 2010.
