Kentucky

Kentucky

There are two major cities in the Bluegrass State – Lexington, which is the home of the Kentucky Derby, and Louisville. Golfing in Kentucky means that there are over 150 communities with golf courses. Known for the blue hue of their green turf and the Kentucky Derby, rather than mountain music, the Derby is big enough to cast long shadows on most any other sport or event… yet golf manages to shine. Is it the excellent turfgrass, or the beautiful natural terrain? For whatever reason, Kentucky is a burgeoning golf state, whatever area of it you visit.

Louisville is in the north, at the Indiana border off of I-65. Lexington is midway up the eastern half of the state, and the only other contender, Bowling Green, is in the western half near the southern border it shares with Tennessee. Lexington acts as hub to all the other destinations on the main highways of Kentucky.
