Boyne

With summer highs in the mid to upper 80s, Boyne Mountain located in Michigan, is a great golfing destination. There are eight unique courses in the Boyne area for golfers to experience, from alpine courses to flat and rolling greens. A variety of courses means that you'll always be able to get the tee times you want, and you can play leisurely or enjoy a game of serious golf.

Course Descriptions – At Boyne Mountain itself there are two courses: The Monument and the Alpine. The Monument is a Hall of Fame 18-hole course with a yardage of over 7,000 and a par 72. The Alpine Course is situated on a mountainside, eventually winding down to Deer Lake, that's the same general yardage as The Monument, with 18 holes and a par of 72.

The Boyne Highlands has four great courses: The Heather, The Arthur Hills, The Donald Ross Memorial and The Moor. The Heather was designed by Robert Trent Jones and is ranked in the top 100 playable courses by Golf Magazine as well as the top 50 best courses for women. Tree-lined fairways and water hazards are the distinguishing features. The Donald Ross Memorial is a combination of classic golf courses used in PGA championships, Ryder Cups and U.S. Opens, designed by Ross. The Coca-Cola Championship is held at The Moor, named for its water holes and marshes. All of these courses are 18-hole courses with yardage between 6,500 and 7,300 and a par 72, except The Arthur Hills which has a par of 73.

Other nearby courses are located in Bay Harbor. The Bay Harbor Golf Club is set on shoreline bluffs and was designed by Arthur Hills in a configuration that's essentially 3 9-hole courses. The Crooked Tree Golf Club offers a view of Lake Michigan with 18 holes and a par of 71 over 6,700 yards. It's the shortest course in the area, but one of the most scenic.

Play & Stay – A jet strip at Boyne Mountain makes it a fly-in golfing destination, with no reservations or fees and free parking. You can also arrive via the Harbor Springs Municipal Airport or the Pellston Regional airport, which is only 15 miles from Boyne Mountain. Taxi and bus service is available. Lodging in the area ranges from resort lodging where you'll find things like golf vacation packages and play and stay golf discounts, to inns and condominiums in the area that may accept golf coupons and have special offers available.
