Rhode Island

Rhode Island

The smallest state in the Union, and the last to join it, the Plantation State has a long history of belief in the rights of the individual. Perhaps that has something to do with that this tiny state, a mere 48 miles by 37 miles, has at least 40 public golf courses! Perhaps that would less surprising if you knew that Rhode Island hosted the very first open golf tournament, way back in 1895. No wonder they enjoy the game so much! They’ve been hosting golf tournaments longer than anywhere else in the country! Bordered by Massachusetts and Connecticut, sharing a water border with New York, the Ocean State of Rhode Island makes a great golf vacation destination, or provides for some very pleasant stops along the way.

All across this state, you’ll find active courses, public and private, with offerings that will are as challenging as they are pleasing to the eye. Add Rhode Island to your golf vacation itinerary. Play their courses along with others if you like, but the Ocean State makes for a fine destination on its own as well!
