Teton Pines - Devil's Tower

Teton Pines Resort and Country Club in Jackson was originally opened in 1987, and heralded as the 3rd Best New Golf Resort in the Country by Golf Digest. What Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay did with this former ranchland is nothing shy of miraculous! The greens and the fairways too them seem open – deceptively so, while the slim hardwoods and groves form a riot of color on the horizon, with the Grand Tetons themselves in the near distance. It’s hard to imagine golfing in the shadow of such impressive, imposing and majestic peaks. Amongst the many honors bestowed upon this beautiful resort since then, have been the Silver Medal for a Resort Course from Golf Magazine, the Top 75 Golf Resorts in America from Golf Digest, and # 9 of the Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America from Conde Naste Traveler. That’s some pretty good company to be keeping, on a course designed by one of the best in the industry. A true masterpiece, Teton Pines Resort and Country Club is a wonderful way to spend part of your golf vacation!

For monumental vistas, choose Devil’s Tower. Just opened in 2006, Rick Phelps and Kevin Atkinson teamed up to carve a piece of history out of towering rock amidst plateaus and dramatic drops. With 70 years and 330 projects between them, they have proven themselves up to the challenge. There’s something truly artful and compelling about the way this team has soothed and formed the fairways and greens into this rustic, rugged terrain which remains vivid and dynamic throughout. Located five miles from over a mile of asphalt runway, flying in and out need not be a problem. Seldom has a course been seen which blends so well with such a vividly old-west mountain terrain. A truly unique experience, each hole is a challenge, the combination an exquisite masterpiece no player is likely to forget.

Wyoming may not be the most populated place in the country, and maybe its best that way) but it certainly does serve up some of the most incredible, overwhelmingly breathtaking scenery anywhere in the country. Combined with great design, attention to detail and a true and obvious love of the game to make sure it’s done right, these three alone would make for an outstanding golf vacation. Just imagine how much better it will be with the rest of the courses to play as well! Treat yourself to a rare and beautiful golf vacation destination this year, and many years to come. Golf Wyoming! People come for the golf and end up staying a lifetime!
